Hi I’m Simba.
I have set up many businesses only to gain a few sales or just fail. After a few more failures I figured that I had to change my “I-love-my-idea-so-much-it’s-going-to-work” aka build it and they will come running mentality to “what do the customers actually want and expect”
This got me interested in marketing. I am a voracious reader so I read any book on marketing that I could get my hands on – copywriting books, purple cow, positioning, 10x, contagious, content marketing etc and it opened my eyes a lot.
I kid you not I have bought over 200 courses from Udemy (I was one of the first people to sign up when they launched and courses used to go on sale for $1 !!) and some of the marketing courses are glorified how-to blog articles? Some are 12 hours long and they spend so much time telling you how to set up a Facebook page or repeating themselves or worse yet telling you how to gain likes and engagement from third world countries!
Then, back when Lynda had not been bought by Microsoft I bought I subscribed to their courses for a year and their marketing courses were more basic than Udemy.
I decided to spend time on YouTube and it’s a mixed bag from outright just lies eg how to make $10k per month and live in Thailand to some good videos from people in the trenches.
But after some hit and missed doing Facebook ads on my own, I spent some time trying to figure out why me or most entrepreneurs (including self published authors, freelancers,) struggled to make Facebook (or even Google Adwords) work.
I spent hours reading the “wait but why” first principles article and I applied it to marketing.
At the core of it all we are in the “trust” business, the more you are trusted as a “problem” solver the more you make in money.
So I have built a course that focuses on teaching you to fall in love with the customers problem (market research), how to gain trust of people (a sales funnel which I call a trust funnel) including automating your business.
I then really spend time on how to hack the sales funnel – by hacking I mean how do you turn a cold customer (someone who doesn’t know you or trust you) to a hot customer (no pun intended!) – I have 10 solid examples/case studies and I figured this is what “growth hackers” actually do and they make it seem like a big mythical secret – but it is not and I believe every business should learn about it.
I finish the course with a primer on how to do Facebook ads.
I use the 80/20 principle to determine what you you really need to learn to actually get results and for the other 80% that only gets you 20% results I have links to useful resources or step by step guides.
If I was to summarise the course it would be 1) how to use Facebook insights, groups, others to do market research 2) how to build a Facebook sales funnel 3) how to do Facebook ads.
What I want to know is whether you have done Facebook ads or not what is the ONE PROBLEM you keep having with Facebook ads?
Do you continuously lose money? Do you not see results ie no one clicking to your website? Tell me and I’ll let you know if I have covered it or not!
I hope that the course will raise the standard for the paid courses which will be good for everyone.
